New York City--Your Way!
Today we are going to learn how to use some special commands in Photoshop that will allow us to edit and transform the perception of images within Photoshop.

Last time we met, we practiced together using a school bus and now today we will work individually to create our own New York City theme! Your theme must be school appropriate and can include a sports team, holiday (example would be Halloween), music, and many more too numerous to include here!

The commands we will be working with include:
  • The Polygonal Lasso tool which allows us to select on angles.
  • The Paste Special --> Paste Into command in Photoshop. This command allows us to replace the selected area with another picture and re size it using the Free Transform tool.
  • The Edit-->Transform-Perception command. This command allows us to place pictures on an angle (the side of a building for example).
You will create a new Photoshop file, 10 by 8 inches, called Your last name-New York City.
Not sure how to do it? Select File--> New --> And fill in the following dimensions:

Please save your file in the following folder: M: drive --> mkohmuench --> Your Class --> 4-City Theme. Save the file as "your last name-NYC"

Your project must include the following elements:
  1. Replace a minimum of 10 items with a paste into picture.
    1. One of the 10 items has to be the background sky!
  2. You are also to include 3 objects (cars, people, cartoon characters, animals) cut out from their background. You may have to use the perception and or warp tool to adjust them.
  3. Remember to use free transform (CTRL + T) and the perception or warp tools (edit menu--> transform) as well as changing the opacity to make your scene as realistic as possible.
  4. Pick one of the following scenes and copy and paste it into Photoshop. Remember you should keep the 10 x 8 dimensions.
