Teacher Time Machine

Oh no! Some of your favorite teachers have accidentally stepped into a time machine and have been sent back in time! For your first project, you will utilize what you have already learned in Photoshop to create a collage from a past era. However, before we can begin the project, we have to do some research!

Please DO NOW:
Utilize the Internet to research an era of your choice. This is the era that you will send your teacher back in time to! I found that the key word searches such as "pop culture of the ___'s" and "what was popular in the ____ era" produced a lot of great results. I have provided several links to get you started.

Information about the 90's, 80's, 70's, 60's, 50's, 40's, 30's, or the 20's

In Microsoft Word, create a list of at least 10 things that were influential during that era. You could select anything from major historical events, fashion trends, products, movies, games, television, music, or celebrities that are synonymous with that era.  Save this document in your G Drive and name it your last name-Teacher Era.  Make sure your name, Block number and day are at the top of your page, print and hand in.  Every paper and assignment you hand in must include this information for you to receive credit for the assignment.  Example below:

Your name       Block 1-B or Block 3-B or Block 5-B or Block 2-A or Block 4-A

On the M drive-->mkohmuench-->Multimedia-->your class-->Folder number 3-Teacher Era Project--Your Folder, save 10 pictures you would like to use in a collage.

Dinner for Five

Today we will utilize the Internet (Google, Bing, or a search engine of your choice) to research the people you listed in today's DO NOW.
After your initial research, narrow down your list of 10 to the lucky FIVE people you want to invite to your dinner party.  You will have to create a PowerPoint presentation explaining your choices.

A title slide which includes your name and block
For each individual you select, create three PowerPoint slides:
Slide 1. Their name and 5 facts about the person
Slide 2. 5 reasons why you chose this person
Slide 3. 5 questions you would want to ask this person
*Each slide should include 1 picture of the person*

Use your prior knowledge of PowerPoint to create a professional looking presentation.  Keep in mind the PowerPoint guidelines we discussed in class.  Your presentation may be shown in class.  (Looking for volunteers!)

DO NOW September 10 (A Day)  September 11 (B Day)

If you could have dinner with anyone, dead or alive, real or fictional, who would you choose?

It's an interesting question to think about, and the answer will help me to learn a lot about you (and your PowerPoint skills!) The people you select can be real or characters from a movie, television, show, or book. The people you select do not have to currently be alive. Remember, the individuals you select will all be seated at the same table to share a meal, so you may want to consider how they would interact and what you would want to ask them or speak to them about.

In Microsoft Word, make a list of ten people you may want to have dinner with.   At the top please include the following:

Your Name
Block ?  (example:  2A)
Date

Title:  10 PEOPLE I WOULD INVITE TO DINNER

Once you have finished, please send your document to the printer and wait for further directions.
